If your student is using MyScorePrep to prepare for the Digital SAT, this page explains what the test involves, how much time to realistically expect, and how you can support them without adding pressure.

What is the Digital SAT?
The Digital SAT is a computer-based college admissions test covering Reading and Writing and Math. It's adaptive: each section has two modules, and performance on the first module influences the difficulty of the second. It's shorter than the older paper SAT and scored on the same familiar 400–1600 scale.
Setting realistic expectations
Meaningful improvement usually comes from consistent, spaced-out practice rather than a single intense cram session. Progress can be uneven week to week, and that's normal — practice test estimates are approximations, not guarantees of test-day performance.
How much time to expect
- A steady pace for many students is a few focused sessions per week rather than daily marathon sessions.
- Short, regular flashcard reviews (a few minutes a day) tend to work better than infrequent long ones because of how spaced repetition works.
- Full-length practice tests take real time (multiple hours) and are best scheduled sparingly, with review time built in afterward.
How to support your student
- Ask about what they're learning rather than only the score they got.
- Help protect consistent, distraction-free study time.
- Encourage reviewing wrong answers and explanations, not just retaking tests.
- Keep the tone low-pressure — anxiety tends to hurt performance more than it helps motivation.
What MyScorePrep tracks
A student's account stores their practice answers, session results, flashcard review scheduling, and the target score and test date they've set. This lets them (and you, if they choose to share their screen or account with you) see progress over time.
MyScorePrep doesn't currently offer a separate parent login — progress is visible within the student's own account.
Cost
MyScorePrep is free to use. There is no fee to access practice questions, explanations, flashcards, or practice tests.
